RDA group named best Health Charity in Sun Awards

Park Lane Stables scoops top ‘Who Cares Wins’ Award

Park Lane Stables RDA in Teddington has been named best health Charity in the Sun newspaper Who Cares Wins Awards. The award, presented by DJ Chris Evans, recognised the group’s outstanding efforts to save the stables in a record-breaking crowd funder last year. Park Lane’s Natalie O’Rourke and rider Philippa George attended the glittering ceremony, broadcast on Channel 4 on Sunday evening.

Natalie said: “We’d like to pay tribute to our RDA National family, our team and every volunteer that gives a moment of their time – and of course our horses!” A delighted Philippa commented: “This is for everyone at Park Lane Stables!”

Described as a ‘tiny stables with a huge heart’, Park Lane was threatened with closure last year when their landlord chose not to renew their lease. The group raised over a million pounds to secure the site. Presenting the award, Chris Evans called the group: “an incredible charity that supports everyone from adults with mental health issues to children with autism. They simply deal in pure joy.”
