Howden Equine: Celebrating a Decade of Support for RDA

We are delighted to be featured in Otium, the latest issue of Howdens’ publication, as we continue our successful partnership with Howden Equine. For over ten years, Howden has been a proud partner and insurance broker for Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA). Their deep understanding of the equestrian world and unwavering commitment to our cause have made a significant impact, and we are excited to carry this collaboration forward into 2025.

This article shines a spotlight on the RDA volunteers and coaches, whose dedication and hard work are at the core of our mission. Volunteers play an essential role in delivering life-changing experiences to participants, whether through therapeutic riding, carriage driving, equine assisted activities or competitive sport. Coaches, in particular, ensure that every individual can reach their full potential in a safe and supportive environment.

Catherine Morgan, Head of Equine at Howden, emphasised the importance of volunteers, stating: “Volunteers are an integral and vital part of RDA and so many other organisations that simply could not operate without the support of thousands of volunteers across the UK.”

Looking ahead to 2025, Howden’s cornerstone support for RDA will be a series of nationwide health and safety workshops. These training events will provide practical, hands-on guidance for coaches and volunteers, focusing on safer coaching practices and risk management. The workshops will not only enhance skills but also foster a sense of community, encouraging collaboration and the sharing of best practices.

Stay tuned for more details on our upcoming workshops and events in 2025!
