A Fantastic Finish to 2024: RDA Shines as Official Charity Partner at the London International Horse Show

What a remarkable way to close out 2024! Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) was incredibly honoured to be named the Official Charity Partner of the London International Horse Show 2024, held at the ExCeL Arena in London. With over 80,000 visitors across five action-packed days, the event brought together the best of equine sport and festive cheer, creating unforgettable moments for all involved.

Being part of this iconic event provided RDA with a unique opportunity to raise vital awareness and support for our mission. Throughout the show, we engaged attendees with an interactive stand featuring exciting activities, daily prize giveaways, a wheel of fortune, and exclusive RDA x Estribos merchandise. In the Talk Horse Live Zone, we hosted daily live sessions with inspiring guest speakers, including Paralympians, Olympians, volunteers, and a bestselling author, all sharing their personal journeys and highlighting the transformative power of horses.

RDA was also featured prominently on the big screens, including during the Brilliance Horse Auction, where funds were raised to support our work. RDA’s CEO, Michael Bishop, had the privilege of presenting the prestigious Ivy Stakes Award to international showjumper Wilm Vermeir and also signed the Charter of the Horse at Agria’s stand.

We are deeply grateful for the continued support of the event’s organisers and all contributors. Michael Bishop, CEO of RDA, said, “This has been an extraordinary opportunity to engage with new audiences, raise awareness about the life-changing work we do, and inspire more people to get involved. A heartfelt thank you to the London International Horse Show team and everyone who helped make this partnership so successful.”

The RDA stand was visited by some of the world’s top riders, including Natasha Baker, Mari Durward-Akhurst, Tom McEwan, William Fox-Pitt, and Sophie Christiansen, creating unforgettable moments for everyone who stopped by. Their support underscores the important role that the equine community plays in empowering individuals with disabilities.

Being the official charity partner of such a prestigious event has allowed RDA to expand our reach and inspire others to support our mission. As we reflect on this incredible year, we look forward to what 2025 holds for the RDA community and remain committed to transforming lives through the power of horses.

We would also like to congratulate our President, HRH, on being awarded the British Equestrian Media Association (BEMA) Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Rupert Bell, BEMA Chairman. The award was a well-deserved recognition of her dedication and impact on the equestrian world.
