Success for the 2024 RDA National Championships

Every year, the RDA National Championships takes place at Hartpury University & College in Gloucester and this year was a special year as RDA celebrated it’s 55th anniversary.

The weekend was an absolute success, welcoming over 300 participants from across the UK to compete.

On Friday 12th July, it was an honour to welcome RDA President, HRH The Princess Royal, for her first public engagement as she returned to work. She presented the President Awards, the Annual Awards, the Annual Coaching Awards and Advanced Coaching Certificates to recent graduates of the Princess Royal Coaching Academy.

The Princess Royal also met with volunteers who helped make the Championships happen and competing participants from across the country. The event was covered by the national press, meaning all eyes were on our fantastic award winners and participants.

On Saturday, the competition continued, with showjumping, vaulting and dressage. Alongside this we hosted a family fun day with activities and stands delivered by our generous Championship Supporters. From the PolyJumps Jump Zone to the Agria Dog Show and to the LifeWithArt design your own tote bag activity – the day was a great success.

Also featured, was an exhibition by My Everest to showcase the launch of the impact campaign in partnership with RDA. With a VIP screening held, the exhibition let visitors take a look inside the journey of RDA rider Max Stainton-Parfitt, and his team, who took on the challenge of riding to Everest base-camp.

Competition was outstanding, from every rider, driver, vaulter and artist, everyone should be so proud of everything they achieved. A huge thank you to our generous Championships Partners and Supporters who helped us make the magic happen and to the team of both event and group volunteers – you’re all amazing!
