A Week to Remember: RDA as Charity Partner of the Year at Agria Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials 2025

Two Weeks On from Blenheim: Reflecting on a Remarkable Week

Two weeks have passed since the Agria Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials 2025, and we’re reflecting on what a meaningful and memorable experience it was to be named Charity Partner of the Year.

Being part of such an iconic event was a true honour for the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA). It gave us the opportunity to bring our mission to the heart of the equestrian community and the response was nothing short of exceptional.

From day one, the RDA stand became a vibrant hub of activity. We were delighted to welcome hundreds of visitors who came to learn more about our life-changing work, meet our team, and, of course, try out our much-loved mechanical horses, Charley and Anton.

Each ride wasn’t just an enjoyable moment, it also helped raise vital funds to support disabled children and adults across the UK. More than that, it opened up conversations about the impact of horses and the importance of what we do. It was a week of genuine connection, thoughtful discussions, and a shared passion for the work RDA does every day.

RDA on the Chat Stage

One of the standout elements of the week was our series of Chat Stage sessions, which offered an inspiring platform to highlight the depth and diversity of our work.

Our opening session, “The Impact of Horses in Society”, brought together voices from RDA, Power of Polo, and The Pony Club, hosted by equestrian presenter Alanna Clarke. Speakers included RDA Coach Kady and RDA participant Darren, who shared powerful insights into how horses build confidence, foster inclusion, and bring communities together, regardless of background or ability.

Our closing session, “Horses, Mental Health and Young People”, was hosted by RDA CEO Michael Bishop alongside Free Rein actor Joe Ashman. RDA participants Khianna and Govind spoke openly about the role horses have played in supporting their mental wellbeing. Their honesty and strength in sharing personal experiences served as a moving reminder of why RDA’s work matters.

Highlights from a Standout Week

In addition to the Chat Stage and our popular mechanical horses, there were plenty of memorable moments throughout the week:

  • Our Shop and Drop service provided a useful spot for visitors while also giving us a chance to share our mission and raise additional funds.
  • The RDA Cross Country fence was a fantastic feature to raise awareness of RDA and we loved seeing top riders take it on.
  • Guided cross-country course walks led by Kirsty Chabert and Bill Levett gave spectators a rare chance to learn from elite eventers while supporting RDA at the same time.
  • At the Agria Blenheim Palace International Horse Trails Media Day, RDA horses Aimee and Ocean joined participant Maddy to help demonstrate the difference RDA makes. CEO Michael Bishop spoke about the significance of being named Charity of the Year and the opportunity to raise awareness on such a major stage.

Thank You

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire team at Agria and Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials for choosing RDA as Charity Partner of the Year and for giving us this incredible platform.

To everyone who visited our stand, made a donation, attended a session, or simply stopped to say hello, thank you. Your support means the world to us and helps ensure that more disabled people across the UK can benefit from the freedom, confidence, and joy that working with horses brings.

2025 has already been a milestone year for us and being part of Blenheim, especially with the European Championships returning to English soil for the first time in a decade, made it even more memorable.

We leave Blenheim feeling proud, energised, and excited for what lies ahead.
